“Being a nurse is all I’ve ever wanted to do. I think I can salute my grandmother for that. She was elderly and I was the youngest grandchild, so I spent a lot of time with her. She thought it would be fabulous for me to be a nurse. I went through elementary, junior high, and high school planning to be a nurse, and that’s what I did. I haven’t regretted it at all.

"The College Network® has a partnership with my employer, and our representative was on site. I’d been thinking about getting my master’s or getting some other degree for some time but just hadn’t taken that step. It was kind of scary. So, I met with the representative and it sounded like I could do it. I signed up later that day and started my journey.

"The modules are great just because you have flexibility. The modules have allowed me to finish my journey in two and a half years. I think it would have taken me longer had I not had the opportunity to do that.

"The experience has been great. The discussion that you have with nurses all over the country and, quite frankly, all over the world through the online discussion and chat has been remarkable. You get a flavor for what nursing is like in other parts of the country that you’ve never been to. I really enjoyed that.

"I will be graduating from Regis University, and because I’m only about an hour away, I’m going to Denver and I will walk at graduation. That’s really exciting!”
