Indiana State University, LPN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing

For Mosi Asabi, nursing is the perfect career. “I wanted to be able to enjoy a comfortable living while doing the job I love,” she said. “Nursing is a very rewarding experience, helping others physically, but also emotionally.”

Mosi enrolled in an online Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program to help expand her nursing career without interrupting her life. “I work over 40 hours a week, and The College Network® allows me to study and take courses at my own pace. I have continued studying as an adult learner because it keeps my mind open to the world. The bachelor of science program expands one’s knowledge appropriately,” Mosi said.

Although going back to school can be frightening, Mosi does not let that get in the way of her dreams. “Fear is an obstacle, and I have had to go through several obstacles to achieve my goals to date. I look at fear as a stepping stone. One must flush out the reasoning for the fear, reevaluate the situation and then proceed,” she said.

Mosi finds time to study during her down time at work as well as on her days off. Because of her study routine, she feels prepared and confident when taking exams. And if she finds she needs help, that’s available as well. “The College Network does have advisors one can talk to when the need arises,” Mosi said.

Mosi looks forward to the future her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree will provide. “It will allow me to work in the venues I prefer, and I will be able to work for a longer period of time. I will also be financially comfortable,” she said.
