Tracey Robilotto already had her Associate’s Degree in Nursing when she opened a flyer in the mail from The College Network® about earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Regis University. She had worked in the healthcare field for 25 years, and her job required her to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, but a variety of things prevented her from going back to school.
“I had always wanted to go back to school, but timing, other responsibilities, and money had always kept me from it. The College Network made it really affordable and doable” says Tracey. “I wouldn’t even have known about Regis University without The College Network.”
Tracey, who is married with two children, took about three years to complete nine courses and earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing while working full time. “The academic support was wonderful. I called many times at off hours and someone was always available to talk with me. The Comprehensive Learning Modules™ were clear, concise, and complete,” says Tracey.
“I cannot imagine going to school any other way,” says Tracey. “It was a little scary and overwhelming at first, going back to school, but there is no way I could go to a classroom setting at this point.”
After finishing her BSN, Tracey was able to move into a position as an educator. “This is my dream job!” says Tracey. “I love what I do. I get to use all my 25 years of experience, and my job is different every day.” As a nurse educator, Tracey is responsible for orienting all new nursing staff, training hospital personnel, coordinating training for all new equipment and changes in care practices, and overseeing nursing education.
Her job as a nurse educator requires a master’s degree and Tracey will soon graduate with her Masters of Science in Nursing, again through Regis University, following the education track.
“It isn’t easy going to school while working, but it’s definitely worth it,” says Tracey.
