Becoming an RN was a long-time goal for Joanna Fontaine. Now, with the help of The College Network®, it’s finally becoming a reality. “My goal was never to be an LPN, it was to be an RN. It’s been a goal I’ve had since high school, and now I’m 28 and finally doing it,” she explains. Joanna is currently enrolled in Excelsior College’s® Associate of Science in Nursing degree program and has recently completed all of the required courses with the help of The College Network.

Joanna was referred to The College Network by a coworker and was surprised when she discovered that so many other LPNs were also pursuing a nursing degree program with the help of The College Network. “It sounded like the best idea. I had gotten things from other companies. The opportunity to do it while I was working full time was why I decided not to go anywhere else. And, I could go at my own pace,” she says of her decision to enroll.

Joanna credits The College Network’s unique financing service with allowing her to finish school. “I would recommend The College Network to anybody. If it wasn’t for the ability to finance everything, I never would have been able to finish school,” Joanna explains. Joanna was able to finance her test fees by adding a small amount to her existing monthly payment.

An Associate Degree in Nursing will have a positive impact on Joanna’s life. “I will find higher paying jobs, and I will have the ability to apply for more of a range of positions,” she says. Joanna used every opportunity she had to study for her exams, “A little bit here, a little bit there; it does add up. It takes a lot of self-discipline, but there are people you can call for help when you need it. You’re not doing it totally alone,” Joanna says. She claims her choice to work with The College Network was one hundred percent worth it!
