Amy Knights

Excelsior College®, Associate of Science in Nursing
Amy Knights had a career in banking but had a desire to do something that made a difference in peoples’ lives. “I ended up becoming a nurse because I wanted to help people. I had interest in doing mission trips and things like that. It came to the right time where it was time to make the decision—time to leave the banking world and see where it took me,” she said.
Amy began her journey into a nursing career by enrolling in an LPN program at a local college. “That was a stepping stone for me, so I started figuring out how I was going to work on my RN right away,” she explained.
The process of finding a good RN program left Amy with some frustrations. “The LPN program I attended had a bridge program at the local community college that I had looked into enrolling in. I felt like I was getting the run around with the bridge program and not giving me the information I needed to test out of classes they let us test out of,” Amy said.
Finally, Amy found a program that met her needs. “I started looking around at other colleges and The College Network® came up and we ended up looking into that. It ended up working out perfectly. I wouldn’t want to do it any other way,” she commented.
Amy says the resources provided by The College Network were great. “Everything I needed was in the modules, up to and including practice tests. I was always prepared for the tests. If you put your mind to it and you stick with it, it’s a perfect solution.”
