Test Day Advice
Excelsior College®

What to Expect When You Arrive at Your Excelsior College® Exam Location

  • Exams are approximately 160 multiple-choice questions.
  • You will be allotted three hours to complete an Excelsior College® Examination.
  • You will be required to show two forms of identification, including one government-issued photo ID. Both must have signatures. Some testing programs may have additional requirements.
  • You are not allowed to take anything into the test center to assist you with your exam.
  • You will be informed when you register for the test.
  • Your exam will be monitored by a proctor. Though this individual is unable to help you with exam questions, they will be able to provide general information about testing procedures.
  • Unless you are completing a written exam, expect to receive your results when you have finished.
  • To discourage cheating, there are three different versions of the exams. The person next to you could be taking a test over the same material, but not necessarily the same exam.
