Founded in 1946 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Lake Superior State University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and offers a variety of unique degree programs. The university’s fire science program was the first Bachelor of Science program to be internationally accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress. This program is offered entirely through distance learning for aspiring and current fire service professionals.
