Kentucky Board of Nursing Updates

The Kentucky Board of Nursing used to require all licensure applicants to complete a 120-hour clinical internship prior to being eligible to take the NCLEX and receive licensure in Kentucky. Now, all applicants for RN licensure (by examination or endorsement) will be required to pass a jurisprudence examination. The exam is an "open book" computerized test based on the Kentucky Nursing Laws, Administrative Regulations and Advisory Opinions.

A study guide is available online at the Kentucky Board of Nursing web site http://www.kbn.ky.gov/license/jpexam.htm.  The test is hosted by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and will cost $9 to access the exam for 3 weeks.
