Providence Healthcare Network--consisting of Providence Health Center, Providence Home Care, De Paul Center, the new Providence Park, Providence Clinics, Providence Foundation, and Providence Health Alliance is a health care network providing a full range of care, including: outpatient care, inpatient care, emergency services, long-term care, mental health care, chemical dependency treatment, child care and senior adult care services and more.
Providence is a member of (and sponsored by) Ascension Health, a national system cosponsored by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Nazareth, Michigan and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondolet. The Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, who originally founded Providence, have a long and praiseworthy history of service to society. St. Vincent and St. Louise de Marillac founded the order of religious women in Paris France in the year 1633. The American community of Daughters was founded in 1809 by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and was united with St. Vincent's community in 1850.
