As the voice of correctional health care, the American Correctional Health Services Association (ACHSA) serves as a forum for addressing current issues and needs confronting correctional health care professionals. ACHSA is dedicated to providing support, skill development, and education programs for health care personnel, organizations, and decision makers involved in correctional health care. ACHSA strives to increase professionalism and create a sense of community among correctional health care personnel while endorsing positive changes in health care for detained and incarcerated individuals.
For more than thirty years, ACHSA has provided education, skill development, and support for personnel, organizations, and decision makers within the correctional health services field. Members benefit from education conferences (locally, regionally, and nationally), professional networking opportunities, representation on the Board of Directors for the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC), affiliation with the American Jail Association (AJA), distance learning and degree opportunities, online resources (including a career center), and discounts from the Civic Research Institute. ACHSA has grown to 1000 active members nationwide.
“This program makes education accessible to our members, no matter where they live or how busy their schedules are,” said Clyde M. “Being able to complete a degree online from a leading university without having to attend any classes on campus is an excellent benefit for ACHSA members.”
