What is The College Network?
Since 1992, The College Network, Inc. has provided working adults with innovative educational solutions from leading universities for associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and professional certificates. Using a blended-learning format that includes college equivalency testing plus online coursework through accredited university partners, your employees can complete their program without attending any classes on campus.
The College Network is an independent educational services company. Our Comprehensive Learning Module™ program is designed to help your employees earn college credit by passing end-of-course equivalency exams.
Will The College Network award the degree?
No, The College Network is not a school. The College Network will provide online Comprehensive Learning Modules to help your employees earn college credit by passing end-of-course equivalency exams.
How is The College Network affiliated with its partner universities?
We are separate entities. The College Network offers Comprehensive Learning Modules to help your employees complete their general education and elective courses through college equivalency exams. Students then can transfer their college equivalency exam scores to one of our partner universities for college credit and complete their degree program.
Will the degree be widely accepted?
Yes. The degree your employees will earn from one of The College Network's partner universities has been accepted by hundreds of the country's most prestigious graduate institutions. Many students have gone on to work for very high profile corporations and healthcare organizations.
Will previously-earned college credits transfer to this program?
Yes! Credit hours from classes in which students earned a passing grade, completed at any accredited college or university, may be applied to their college degree program. Because of our unique partnerships with various universities, there are no time limitations on previous general education credits in most cases.
The College Network and our partner universities can provide all of the courses your employees will need to complete their degree.
What is college equivalency testing or testing out?
College equivalency testing, or testing out, allows students to demonstrate their knowledge and proficiency in a given subject area.
Your employees can earn college credit at their own pace, just by passing the exams. When a student passes an exam and transfers their scores to one of our partner universities, they will receive credit for that course. The College Network has helped thousands of people successfully pass college equivalency exams.
How long will it take to complete a degree program?
The College Network will assist your employees in designing a program to complete their degree at a pace that works with their schedule. Many people can complete one of our online Comprehensive Learning Modules in four to six weeks, but if your employees want to work at a slower pace, they can. However, our partner universities may have time restrictions for completing a degree once enrolled.
Associate’s degree programs usually take 18 to 20 months or less to complete. Bachelor’s programs usually can be completed in 24 months or less. Master’s programs typically take between 18 and 24 months.
The number of degree requirements and transfer credits a student has will determine the exact length of their program.
How long will it take to complete a certificate program?
Certifcate programs vary greatly. Some, like the Certificate in Executive Leadership from eCornell, can be completed in only eight weeks. Others, like the Certificate in Project Management, can take six months or more.
Wouldn’t it be faster to earn a degree through an accelerated program at a traditional campus?
Not necessarily. Nursing program students may have to wait one to two years just to get accepted into these programs. Business program students may not be able to get into the required core classes needed to advance to graduation. With The College Network, classes start upon enrollment!
Are distance learning programs less expensive than traditional college programs?
Yes! Distance learning programs eliminate many of the traditional expenses associated with higher education, such as additional childcare and transportation costs.
What happens if my employees relocate?
If students move to another city or state, they can take The College Network portion of their program with them. There are testing centers available in all 50 states and at numerous international facilities.
