Last night, I had the privilege of talking to a customer of The College Network who became a nurse to do missionary work. She's done many missions to Haiti as an LPN but hopes to branch out. She's currently working toward earning her RN in hopes that she'll be able to work in Africa or other countries.
I hear a lot of people say that they earn their RN for monetary reasons (absolutely nothing wrong with that), but it was a wonderful change of pace to speak with someone whose complete purpose was to do good in the lives of others. It was a refreshing reminder of the kind of difference The College Network employees and customers make in the world.
She left me with this piece of advice that I hope inspires you as much as it inspired me: "If you're called to something, you just do it." I thank her for her encouraging words and only hope that I'm able to make the sort of difference that she is every single day.
