Regis University, RN to Master of Science in Nursing
Catherine Petrick wanted to be a physician. She went to school for a year and a half before taking a job as a unit secretary. During that time, she witnessed some of the amazing things nurses do. “I never thought I wanted to be a nurse, but, I was blown away with how well educated and highly skilled nurses are. Nurses are amazing, and I wanted to be one,” Catherine said.
Catherine has proudly spent 27 years in the nursing field. “The College Network® introduced me to Regis University. They brought all the paperwork and information I needed to my house, and we talked it over while enjoying the nice day in my gazebo,” she said.
During the program, Catherine did her best to make sure she kept herself going. She met a friend through her online courses, and they decided to do all their courses together. “She is a woman from Kentucky. I actually went there to meet her. Whenever one of us was feeling down, we would remind each other that we could do it and that we were so close!” Catherine said. “It was great to see her and another friend from New York that I made through the program at the graduation at Regis University.”
Catherine is now working as the nurse educator for her employer’s five campuses. Her advice to students is: “Go for it. If you want to move up, The College Network can help you do that. It’s already laid out for you! I would have never gotten my master’s degree if it wasn’t for this online program.”
Catherine doesn’t regret her decision one bit and hopes that other nurses take the same opportunity. “I am ever so grateful that The College Network found me because I have completed my master’s in nursing education. The online capability in attaining this achievement was so adaptable to my work and home life that it was a very comfortable fit. I would recommend this opportunity to earn a degree from your home to all nurses,” she said.
