Jennifer was already in LPN school when two program advisors from The College Network® had a table set up with information about distance learning programs. “I went by and I saw a binder that had a math class and the title was on the book. And I just stopped by and see what they had to say and they actually said that that was the class and I just had to read it,” Jennifer said. “And I was like, ‘Man, sounds a lot better than coming to this classroom from eight to five.’ So then I got his number. I went and got my friend, and we signed up.”

Like most people who work full time and are still interested in going to school, Jennifer appreciates being able to study on the go. “I love it because you’re at home. You can stop, go eat, go to work. You could even, on your breaks at work, pull it up online and still study at work and go home and before you go to sleep, study again,” Jennifer said. “I mean, it’s just whenever you feel like it, and that’s the great part about it."

Since starting the program Jennifer has managed to keep a good pace, taking tests fairly quickly. “Really, I just want to get done. I like to learn, but I work full time so I don’t have too much time,” she said. “I work full time and I study and as soon as I can get done with school, I’ll have more time to do things that I want to do.”

Jennifer knows that becoming an RN will eventually lead her to more advanced nursing. “This is stepping stone up the ladder. I want to eventually become a nurse practitioner. But, I’m taking it one step at a time.”
